Here you will find answers to the questions we are asked most often, about booking and payments, our tours, transfers, travelling in Europe, group and corporate travel, and Umrah.

The details of each tour, including what is included, the minimum number of travellers and the pick-up arrangements, are on the tour’s own page. Where a tour differs from the general answers below, the tour page takes priority.

If your question is not covered here, send us a message through the contact page or the enquiry form on any tour. We are happy to help before you book, even if you are still deciding where to go.

Booking & payments

How do I book a tour?

Choose a tour and send the enquiry form with your travel dates and number of travellers. You will receive a reference number straight away and can continue the conversation with us on WhatsApp. We then confirm availability and the final price with you.

Are the prices per person?

Yes. Prices are shown as “from” prices per person. On many of our multi-day tours the price is per person sharing a twin, double or triple room; the details are in each tour’s inclusions.

Is there a minimum number of travellers?

On many of our tours the minimum is 2 travellers per booking. Where this applies, it is shown next to the price.

Do children travel free?

On some of our private van tours, children aged 3 and below travel free. Ask us when you enquire and we will confirm it for your tour.

What does “Price on request” mean?

We do not have a fixed online price for that tour or date. Send an enquiry and we will come back to you with a quote.

Is sending an enquiry the same as booking?

No. An enquiry is a request for information or a quote, and it does not commit you to anything. A booking is only made once you have accepted our written quote, paid the deposit and received a booking confirmation.

How much is the deposit and when is the balance due?

It depends on the tour or service and on how close to departure you book. The deposit and the date the balance is due are always stated in your quote and booking confirmation. Some items, such as certain rail tickets or charters, need full payment at the time of booking; we will tell you when this applies.

Can I change or cancel my booking?

Yes, by letting us know in writing. Changes depend on availability and may carry a cost. Cancellation charges apply as set out in your booking confirmation and usually increase closer to the travel date. See our Terms & Conditions for details.

Do I need travel insurance?

We strongly recommend it. A good policy should cover cancellation, medical treatment abroad, repatriation and your belongings, and should be taken out as soon as you book.

Which currency are your prices in?

Tour prices on the website are shown in euros (EUR) per person. Your quote will confirm the price and the currency for payment.

Tours

What is the difference between multi-day tours and day tours?

Multi-day tours — private van tours, city breaks, rail tours and self-drive tours — last several days and include accommodation. Day tours, guided walks, Christmas market tours and photography tours last a day or less.

What is included in a tour?

Every tour page lists what is included and what is not, for example accommodation, breakfast, transfers, guides and entrance tickets. On many of our day tours, sightseeing and entrance tickets are subject to availability.

Does the price vary with the size of the group?

On many of our private van tours, yes: they can be booked for 2 to 16 people and the price per person depends on the group size.

Are the tours suitable for wheelchair users?

Many of our day tours are not wheelchair accessible. Please tell us about any accessibility needs when you enquire so we can check the tour for you.

Transfers

What kinds of transfers do you arrange?

Airport, point-to-point and city transfers, as well as port, train station and hotel transfers, event transport and group transfers.

What vehicles are available?

Our fleet includes saloon cars, 9-seat Mercedes vans, 16- and 19-seat minibuses and 49-seat coaches.

How do I request a transfer?

Use the transfer form with your pick-up and drop-off points, date and time, number of passengers and luggage. We will reply with a quote.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

For airport pick-ups, please give us your flight number when you book. We monitor the arrival time, so your driver can adjust to a delay. If your flight is cancelled or diverted, contact us as soon as you can and we will rearrange the transfer.

Where will I meet my driver?

At airports your driver usually waits in the arrivals hall with a name sign. For hotels, ports and stations we confirm the meeting point with your booking.

Can you provide child seats?

Yes, on request. Please tell us the ages of the children when you book so we can arrange the right seats.

Travelling in Europe

Do I need a visa to travel in Europe?

It depends on your nationality and the countries you visit. Many countries are part of the Schengen Area, which has common entry rules, while the UK, Ireland and some others have their own. New digital entry systems are also being introduced for non-EU visitors. Please check the official government advice for your nationality before you travel; we are happy to point you in the right direction.

When is the best time to travel?

For most of Europe, May, June and September offer warm weather with fewer crowds than July and August. Winter is ideal for city breaks and Christmas markets, and for the Alps in the ski season. Each destination page has a “best time to visit” note.

Can I combine several countries in one trip?

Yes, and many of our tours do exactly that. Distances between European cities are often short, and fast trains, private vans and short flights make it easy to visit two or three countries in a week. We will help you keep the pace comfortable.

Is it better to travel by train, by car or with a driver?

Trains are ideal between cities, a self-drive car gives freedom in the countryside, and a private van with a driver suits families and groups who want door-to-door travel without the driving. Many tailor-made trips mix all three.

Can you help with accessible travel?

Yes. Tell us about any mobility or other needs when you enquire. We can look for step-free hotels, suitable vehicles and private guides, and we will be honest when a tour or site is not suitable.

Groups & MICE

What size of group can you look after?

From small private groups of a few people to large groups travelling on several coaches. Our vehicles range from 9-seat vans and 16- and 19-seat minibuses to 49-seat coaches.

How far ahead should we plan a group trip?

Six to twelve months ahead is ideal, especially for spring and summer, Christmas markets or dates around major events. Shorter notice is often possible, but the choice of hotels is smaller.

Can you organise a conference or incentive trip?

Yes. We arrange venues, hotel blocks, transfers, shuttles, gala dinners, incentive activities and post-event tours. See our MICE & Corporate Events page.

Do you work with travel agents and tour operators?

Yes. We can act as your ground handler in Europe, building itineraries to your brief and looking after your clients on the ground. Contact us to discuss how you would like to work.

Umrah

Do you arrange Umrah from the UK?

Yes. We arrange tailor-made Umrah journeys from the UK and Europe, with flights, hotels near the Haram in Makkah and Madinah, transfers and guided Ziyarat. See our Umrah page.

When is the best time to perform Umrah?

Umrah can be performed at any time of the year, except around the days of Hajj when access is restricted. Ramadan is the busiest time. The winter months are cooler and usually quieter, while summer is very hot.

Do you arrange the Umrah visa?

Visa rules for Saudi Arabia change from time to time and depend on your nationality and residency. We confirm the current requirements with you before anything is booked and can guide you through the application.

Can you arrange Umrah for elderly parents or families with children?

Yes. We look for hotels within a short walk of the Haram, arrange private transfers or the Haramain train between the cities, and plan a gentle pace. Wheelchairs and electric carts are available for Tawaf and Sa’i.

Are there fixed Umrah packages or prices?

No. Every Umrah journey is tailor-made and quoted on request, based on your dates, the number of travellers, your departure city and the hotels you prefer.
